Churches United for Comstock
"How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!"
Psalm 133.1

What is Churches United for Comstock?

In the fall of 2010, God's Spirit moved through different means to bring pastors of various Comstock churches together. For too long, the churches had operated with little knowledge of one another and with minimal teamwork. God has called us together to pray for Comstock, to support one another, and to plan for unified ministry so that the gospel of Jesus Christ may change lives in Comstock.

Our Joint Ministry

Since our inception in 2010, we have pursued various joint ministry ventures, including:

1. Working together to sponsor a full-time missionary in the Comstock Schools through Youth for Christ. After much planning and fundraising, Joey Ulman began his full-time ministry in the fall of 2012.

2. We have held three Unity Worship/Prayer services. Two of these were held at the Comstock Community Auditorium and another at Kalamazoo Community Church.

3. We have formed a partnership with the Comstock schools to promote and recruit for an elementary age tutoring program.

4. We have begun forming a partnership with the Township board on some clean-up projects in nearby neighborhoods.

When and Where Do We Meet?

We meet the second Tuesday of each month for lunch. We typically begin at 11:30 am. The meeting lasts for about an hour and a half.

We meet at a different church facility each month.

Who Is Involved?

We currently have ten churches and three para-church organizations represented. The group goes across denominational and non-denominational lines. We are unified in our commitment to the Bible as the word of God and in the saving message that it proclaims in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. As we see the challenges that our community faces, we are unified in recognizing the dire need for the gospel in Comstock.  The ministries currently involved are:
